MATERICA is the immersive installation proposed by luca montironi and Tommaso cherubini for Svicolando 2025. An experience that radically alters the perception of space and the body. The architecture of the church of San Marco is transfigured into an abstract and suspended landscape, where light, color, and sound redefine the boundaries of reality. The atmosphere becomes enveloping, destabilizing spatial reference and inviting sensory and intuitive experimentation.
Dense, material beams of light cross the air, generating temporary forms, ephemeral architectures, and synthetic visions. Electronic sound and industrial suggestions amplify the dystopian dimension of the experience, creating a constant perceptual tension between wonder and bewilderment.

MATERICA is a borderline space, a threshold between the visible and the invisible, where abstraction becomes a physical condition. An invitation to lose oneself, to be carried away by instinct and altered perceptions. Another reality, suspended, where control gives way to instability.
